The virtual Round Table "Modern trends in the development of humanitarian cooperation: education, science and culture" is held at the ESCEG.

Covered in the Memorandum of Cooperation, for training in the fields of public administration and business, signed in September 2019, between the Higher School of State and Government Cadres (ESCEG) and the Russian Academy of Economics and Public Administration National (RANEPA), attached to the President of the Russian Federation, the virtual Round Table "Modern trends in the development of humanitarian cooperation: education, science and culture" is held. The meeting is the first of 4 virtual exchanges, which will be will take place within the framework of the day of round tables, jointly organized between the two institutions. At the opening of the day, participated by the Russian side, Dmitry Butashin, Vice Chancellor of RANEPA; Sergey Oboznov, Counselor of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in Cuba; Sergey Tikhonov, First Secretary of the Department of Latin America of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and Larisa Taradina, Director of Educational Development and International Cooperation of RANEPA. On the Cuban side, they opened the conference, Dr.C. Mercedes Delgado Fernández, Rector of the ESCEG and Julio Antonio Garmendía Peña, Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba to the Russian Federation. The virtual appointment had 46 participants, 26 from Cuba and 20 from Russia. As experts for Cuba, the following participated: Antonio Carricarte Corona, President of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba; Noemí Rabaza Fernández, First Vice President of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP); Lilia María Zamora Rodríguez, Director of Latin America and the Caribbean of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the Peoples (ICAP) and Nélida Guerra Moreira, Deputy Director of Europe of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX). The virtual exchange was also attended by members of the Board of Directors, specialists and professors from the ESCEG, as well as representatives of MINCEX. On behalf of the Russian academy, the following participated as experts: Alexey Lavrov, Deputy Minister of Finance of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation and President of the Public Organization of Solidarity and Cooperation with the Republic of Cuba of Russia "Russian Society of Friendship with Cuba"; Dmitry Rodionov, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Fidel Castro Foundation for the Promotion of Russian-Cuban Relations; Igor Lukyanov, Vice President of the Board of Directors of the Fidel Castro Foundation for the Promotion of Russian-Cuban Relations; Elena Serebryakova, Deputy Director General for Culture and Communications of the Russian-Latin American House Association and Alexander Seregin-Castro, member of the Coordinating Council of the Russian-Latin American House Association. The Cuban and Russian experts referred in their interventions to the collaboration between Russia and Cuba in the fields of education, science and culture. Collaboration is strengthened, for the preparation of cadres, between the Russian Academy of Economics and National Public Administration (RANEPA), attached to the President of the Russian Federation and the Higher School of State and Government Cadres (ESCEG).
