Seminar on the selection, training, evaluation and management of Chinese management personnel for Cuba




From December 9 to 20, 2024, the “Seminar on the selection, training, evaluation and management of management personnel for Cuba” was held at the Higher School of State and Government Cadres (ESCEG). It was organized by the Center for International Cooperation of the National Development and Reform Commission, together with the Higher School of State and Government Cadres, who have had a fruitful collaboration since 2017. This training was sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China and the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment of Cuba, together with the Embassies of the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Cuba.
The inauguration was presided over by the deputy director of the Center for International Cooperation of the National Development and Reform Commission Cui Lin, Song Guoxuan, head of the Office of Major Events and Mercedes Delgado Fernández, Rector of ESCEG. During the week of December 9-13, Zhou Yunbo, Vice Dean of the School of Economics and Deputy Director of the Political Economy Research Center of Nankai University, and Zhang Xiaozhao, Vice Chairman of the Wind Energy Subcommittee of the Electricity Council, also participated as speakers. During that week, topics such as China's national conditions; Reform and opening up; Macroeconomic situation; Chinese modernization and rural revitalization; Clean energy technologies; New energies in China; International cooperation on industrial chains in new energy sources; Low-carbon green energy and diverse agricultural development practices were taught. During the week of the 16th to the 20th, Li Qianwen, Vice President of the Nanjing Audit University, taught different topics such as regulations, evolution, culture, experiences and good practices in very strategic topics, such as: selection, appointment, training, performance evaluation, incentives and supervision of cadres, traditional Chinese culture and the art of leadership, selection and growth of young cadres and management of executives according to Xi Jinping's thought.
Heads of organs, agencies of the Central State Administration, business groups, companies and institutions were invited, which allowed for a total of 103 participants in the course, taking into account the 72 participants of the first week and the 75 in the second.
The training was based on the comprehensive approach, the high level of mastery of the speakers, ethics, sensitivity, respect, camaraderie, professionalism of organizers and interpreters, as well as the discipline of the students, their comments, questions and the quality and coherence of the designed program.
