From August 24 to September 6, 2026, the “Seminar for Cuba on In-Depth Study of the Evolution and Transformation of Business Development in China” was held in the People’s Republic of China. It was organized by the Center for International Cooperation of the National Development and Reform Commission of the People’s Republic of China and by the Higher School of State and Government Cadres (ESCEG) of Cuba. The group consisted of 25 directors with decision-making responsibilities from 23 institutions across various economic and social sectors, 12 business systems from strategic sectors of the country, and the Rector of ESCEG as head of the delegation.
The program of the bilateral seminar aimed to deepen the knowledge, experiences, and best practices of the transformations of Chinese companies to lead the transformation of the management model of economic actors, promoting autonomy, efficiency, innovation, and collaboration between state-owned and private sector enterprises, in accordance with the priorities of Cuba’s economic and social development. The seminar is of strategic importance as it is directly linked to the economic and social transformations recently approved by the Party, the Government, and the National Assembly of People's Power, particularly those measures focused on the following key areas: transformations in the management model of economic actors and transformations in property relations. The opening and closing ceremonies included the participation of directors from the Center for International Cooperation (CCI) of the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC) of the People's Republic of China, the Ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Cuba to the People's Republic of China, and other representatives of the Embassy.
