Received Rector of the Superior School of State Cadres and the Government of Cuba by the Head of the Presidential Administration of Belarus on March 16, 2018

The Rector of the Superior School of State Cadres and the Government of Cuba (ESCEG), Mercedes Delgado Fernández, was received by Natalia Kochánova, Head of the Presidential Administration of Belarus at the headquarters of that body, where they exchanged on important aspects of the preparation of public officials, as well as the importance of the exchange of experiences between Cuba and Belarus in this field.

The main tasks of the Presidential Administration are aimed at ensuring compliance with the prerogatives of the President of Belarus in the areas of state policy cadres, the Belarusian state ideology, law, socio-economic policy, foreign policy, the functioning of government agencies and the De-bureaucratization of the state apparatus.

Natalia Kochánova stressed that Belarus has developed a system for the preparation of cadres for the public service that is constantly modernized with the most advanced practices. Among other actions, the objective of the Public Administration Academy attached to the President of Belarus is to perfect the study programs, emphasizing international experience, which will allow students to effectively solve the tasks of the development of economic-commercial relations and the diversification of exports.

Natalia Kochánova pointed out that President Alexander Lukashenko pays special attention to the work of public officials who exercise the socially oriented policy of the State and expressed confidence that the collaboration between the Academy of Public Administration attached to the President of Belarus and the High School of Cadres of the State and the Government of Cuba will be effective, highlighting that for both countries the development of human resources is a priority.

On her part, Rector Mercedes Delgado Fernández stressed the importance of the collaboration with the Public Administration Academy attached to the President of Belarus for the Higher School of State Cadres and the Government of Cuba. He said that in the meetings held with the Academy he has found multiple points of contact. He emphasized that Belarus and Cuba are united not only by the socially oriented policy of both States, but also by the special pacifying role assumed by both countries in their respective regions.

During the work meeting they agreed to continue the collaboration between both countries in the priority directions of the formation of the management boards, as well as the exchange of work experience in the field of public management. Several Belarusian media and television broadly highlighted the information about this meeting and the working visit of the ESCEG Rector to Belarus.

The meeting was attended by Juan Valdés Figueroa, Ambassador of the Republic of Cuba in the Republic of Belarus.
