Online Seminar "Policies to attract foreign direct investment in Shandong province" is held.

Covered in the Cooperation Memorandum, signed on November 18, 2019, between the Higher School of State and Government of Cuba and the Shandong Governance Academy, it was held on the morning of April 26, 2021, the Online seminar "Policies to attract foreign direct investment (FDI) in the province of Shandong", organized by the Higher School of State and Government Cadres (ESCEG) and the equivalent Academy of the People's Republic of China, an exchange attended by 81 participants . In addition to the main ESCEG cadres, representatives of 7 ministries were present at the virtual meeting (Ministry of the Revolutionary Armed Forces, Ministry of Transport, Ministry of Tourism, Ministry of Science, Technology and Environment, Ministry of Foreign Trade, Ministry of Food Industry and Ministry of Energy and Mines), of the National Institute of Hydraulic Resources, representatives of 9 business groups and unions of companies of the Ministries of Food Industry, Tourism and Ministry of Energy and Mines. Also attended by representatives of the Mariel Special Development Zone, the Permanent Commission for Implementation and Development, PROCUBA, Group for Promotion and Investments of the Ministry of Foreign Trade, the Single Window (VUINEX) of the Ministry itself and representatives of the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba.

The Conference was given by Professor Kong Xiangrong, Dean of the Department of Economics of the Shandong Governing Academy, an expert at the Research Center "Belt and Road Initiative" in Shandong Province and PhD in Economics from the University of Shandong.
His fields of research are: the world economy, the industrial economy and the situation of Shandong province.
The exchange was chaired, on the Cuban side, by Dr. C. Mercedes Delgado Fernández, Rector of ESCEG and, on the Chinese side, by Mr. Si Qiang, vice president of the Shandong Governance Academy, who, in their interventions, thanked the opportunity for collaboration and agreed on actions to be developed by the parties, which complement the exchange developed. Among them, the publication by Professor Kong Xiangrong, of an article on the subject, in the Cuban Journal of Public and Business Administration of the ESCEG.
This exchange will contribute to strengthening trade relations between the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Cuba and, particularly, with the province of Shandong, and to identify projects of mutual interest for the development of joint investments. Both academic institutions, prior to the Seminar, exchanged important normative documents on foreign investment, in force both in the People's Republic of China and in Cuba.
