Meeting of the Academic Committee of the Specialization in Business Administration and Management
On April 10, eight members of the Academic Committee of the Business Administration and Management Specialization of the Higher School of State and Government Cadres (ESCEG) met to evaluate and approve the teaching schedule for the 10th edition, which will begin on May 12 at the institution, and to develop the methodological work that contributes to continuous improvement. This Program was accredited as a Program of Excellence by the National Accreditation Board (JAN) in 2020. The meeting was chaired by the Rector, Dr. C. Mercedes Delgado Fernández, who coordinates the academic committee. Also present were two Vice-Rectors, two heads of teaching departments: Business Administration and Management and Computer Science, and three other professors. It was discussed how each course increasingly includes teaching and assessment methods that contribute to managers' competencies, such as the use of case studies, analysis and interpretation of company data, use of tools and platforms with information from business systems, best practice visits, exchange panels, teamwork, rigorous diagnostics, and innovation projects on priority topics for the students' home companies. Several professors addressed specific features of each course's assessment system.
At the meeting, the head of the Computer Science Department presented some of the main platforms taught on Artificial Intelligence. Other professors explained that its use is not limited to the Digital Transformation course, and several professors already teach it in their courses.
It was agreed to conduct a survey for each course of the types of teaching methods, the use of digital tools, and Artificial Intelligence.
It was agreed to hold a scientific seminar on Artificial Intelligence tools for the faculty of the Specialty to facilitate their dissemination and the assimilation of some teaching practices and methods in the courses.
It was agreed to visit the students' institutions during the training and select best practice scenarios to enhance the managers' competencies based on their main gaps.
The PNI feedback tool (Positive, Negative, and Interesting) and the weekly survey will be administered at the end of each course through the online platform.
As a result of the analysis of the completed course, the schedule has been refined with the inclusion of an intermediate in-person week in the second training session, which will allow for greater follow-up with the students and support from tutors.
At the meeting, the schedule for the 10th Specialization in Business Administration and Management was agreed upon. The program will begin on May 12 at the ESCEG with the selected managers and will be sent through the State and Government Staff Directorate.
