The first online seminar "The Belt and Road Initiative" is held with the Guangxi Institute of Public Administration

Organized jointly by the Higher School of State and Government Cadres (ESCEG) and the Guangxi Institute of Public Administration, the Online Seminar on the theme "The Belt and Road Initiative" was held on May 26, 2022. ”.

The opening words of the virtual exchange were given, on the Cuban side, by Dr.C. Mercedes Delgado Fernández, Rector of the ESCEG, and for the Chinese counterpart institution, by Hu Jianhua, Executive Vice Rector of the Institute.

The meeting was attended by Vilma Sánchez Sempé, Director of Trade Policy with Asia and Oceania of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX).

Participating, as speakers for Cuba, were Dr. and Specialist in medicine in the second degree, Yamila de Armas Águila, President of the Cuban Medical Services Marketing Company; the M. Sc. Zulaine Guerra Montané, Business Development Manager of the Biotechnological and Pharmaceutical Industries Group (BioCubaFarma) and the M. Sc. Rafael Luis Torralbas Ezpeleta, President of the Scientific and Technological Park of Havana.

Also present for the ESCEG were the Vice Chancellor Dr. C. Ana Gloria Navarro Pentón and the Specialist in Computer Sciences, Edel Díaz Peña.

In addition to the main executives and academics of the Guangxi Institute of Public Administration, the exchange was attended by executives from the Department of Commerce; of the Development and Reform Commission; from the Investment and Financing Division of the Department of Industry and Informatization; from the Regulations Division of the Department of Natural Resources, as well as from the Guangxi Autonomous Region Municipal Party Committee Office.

The ESCEG and the Guangxi Institute of Public Administration began conversations in 2019, with the aim of collaborating in the field of public and business administration.

Within the framework of the Seminar, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the representatives of both institutions, regarding governance and staff training, economic and social development, public and business administration, human resource development, society and culture, as well as the Belt and Road Initiative.

The relations of the ESCEG with homologous academies and institutions of the People's Republic of China are consolidated.
