On April 16, a delegation from ESCEG participated in the 5th International Colloquium “PATRIA,” which took place against a global backdrop of information warfare and digital concentration. The colloquium paid tribute to the centenary of Fidel Castro and explored his legacy in digital communication, political narratives, and the construction of cultural hegemony in the 21st century. The event, which brought together approximately 150 participants from some 23 countries at the Línea y 18 Cultural Station, ran until April 18. The opening ceremony coincided with the 65th anniversary of the proclamation of the socialist character of the Cuban Revolution and was attended by the First Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and President of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez. He was accompanied by Political Bureau members Roberto Morales Ojeda, Secretary of Organization of the Central Committee, and Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla, Minister of Foreign Affairs, as well as leaders of the Union of Journalists of Cuba (UPEC).
