Cuban-Russian Working Group for Cooperation in Higher Education

On March 24, the Cuban-Russian Working Group for Cooperation in Higher Education held a videoconference meeting with the participation of more than 35 officials, including university rectors from both countries. The delegation from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation was headed by Deputy Minister Konstantin Ilyich Moguilevsky, and Cuba by Deputy Minister of Higher Education Reynaldo Velázquez Zaldívar. The Higher School of State and Government Cadres (ESCEG) was represented by its Rector, Mercedes Delgado Fernández. As part of the intergovernmental agreements between the two countries, the agreement establishing ESCEG's relations with the Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration was ratified. They plan to organize training programs this year within the Presidential Academy's professional development programs, with enrollment expected for 40 Cuban public officials, to be held in 2026.
