In Cuba improvement courses for state and government cadres

The First Vice President of the Councils of State and Ministers, Miguel Díaz – Canel Bermúdez, presided over the opening of the Diploma course in Public Administration and Management and Business Management, which for 10 weeks will be taught at the Higher School of State Cadres and the Government, in Havana.

Under the methodological advice of the Ministry of Higher Education (MES), the school assumes within its functions the need to improve the management skills of the main cadres and their reserves in the entities of the State, Government and its Business System, and strengthen them in the preparation required for the performance of his duties, said a report of the Information System of Cuban Television.

In the last two years, there have been 4,934 students in the country, 101 of them in the State and Government Higher School. Deputy ministers, directors of the central apparatus and of the business groups, among others, have participated.

Mrs. Mercedes Delgado, Rector of the Higher School of State and Government (ESEG), said that in this edition, for the first time, they register ministers, first secretaries of provincial committees of the Party and presidents of the Provincial Administration Councils.

"We are convinced that the course will contribute to the change of mentalities that is required by the responsibilities they have and that the presence of everyone in the classrooms will ensure joint learning," said the Rector Mercedes Delgado.

The course lasts 10 weeks, and students will receive refresher lectures, visit entities, provinces and institutions.
