Graduation of the VIII edition of the Diploma in Public and Business Administration

On April 28, 2026, 23 officials graduated from the Higher School of State and Government Cadres (ESCEG) after completing the eighth edition of the Diploma in Public and Business Administration. These graduates came from various agencies and departments of the central government, business groups, and institutions. The ceremony was dedicated to Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro Ruz on the centenary of his birth. It was presided over by the Head of the Directorate of State and Government Cadres, Miguel Mario Cabrera Castellanos, and the Rector of ESCEG, Dr. Mercedes Delgado Fernández, who delivered the closing remarks. The Rector of ESCEG explained that the training took place over 12 weeks in a complex context marked by economic and energy constraints and an intensified US blockade of Cuba. She noted that the program prioritized developing the generic competencies of public and business administration managers, with a greater emphasis on blended learning, dedication, and responsibility to achieve its objectives. The exchange with speakers holding key leadership positions in the country was highlighted, including the Prime Minister of the Republic of Cuba, Manuel Marrero Cruz, who addressed the update of the Government's 2026 Economic and Social Program, along with the faculty, whom you recognize for their quality, dedication, and professionalism. During their preparation, the students participated in various activities that fostered skills such as teamwork, the use of software and artificial intelligence tools, integrated workshops, and the pre-defense and defense of 23 final projects. These projects, characterized by methodological rigor, presented innovative solutions aligned with the Government's 2026 Economic and Social Program, the agreements of the 8th Party Congress, and the country's priorities, while also responding to the missions and strategic objectives of the institutions. Mercedes Delgado Fernández also announced the First International Convention on Innovation and Leadership in Public and Business Administration, CILAPE 2026, to be held from October 12 to 16 of this year, coinciding with the School's 15th anniversary.

The graduates and faculty reaffirmed their commitment to the Homeland, Sovereignty, the Revolution, and Socialism with #MySignatureWithTheHomeland. Finally, the graduates took a group photo and planted a tree in the alumni forest.
