A seminar for Cuba on Xi Jinping's thought on socialism with Chinese characteristics for the new era is being held at ESCEG.

From December 8 to 21, 2025, the Higher School of State and Government Cadres of Cuba (ESCEG) hosted the Seminar for Cuba on Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era. The seminar was jointly organized by ESCEG and the National Academy of Governance of China, within the framework of bilateral cooperation between the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX) and the Ministry of Commerce of the People's Republic of China (MOFCOM). Ninety-five participants from over 45 different state and government agencies, business groups, companies, and institutions attended, including senior state and government officials, managers, professors, and other civil servants.

The opening ceremony was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the People's Republic of China to Cuba, Mr. Hua Xin, and the Deputy Attorney General of the Republic, Mr. Marcos Antonio Caraballo de la Rosa.

The opening remarks were delivered by Dr. Mercedes Delgado Fernández, Rector of ESCEG. The inaugural address was given by Mr. Liu Chenguang, Professor in the Department of Scientific Socialism at the National Academy of Governance of China.

The seminar program, taught by distinguished academics from the National Academy of Governance of China, covers topics such as: the theory and practice of modernization in the Chinese style; the national governance system; the socialist market economy system; national security strategy; high-quality joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative; the development of a socialist culture with Chinese characteristics in the new era; the study of the textbook "Xi Jinping: Governance and Administration of China"; Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era; China's practices and experiences in poverty alleviation; the process and experience of reform and opening up; China's social construction and social governance; and the self-revolution of the Communist Party of China. Theory and practice of building a socialist rule-of-law state and study of the textbook "Xi Jinping: The Governance and Administration of China".
