ESCEG executives visit more than 10 institutions in the People's Republic of China

Last September, the Higher School of State and Government Cadres (ESCEG) visited four provinces of the People's Republic of China (Guizhou, Hunan, Hebei, and Beijing) from the 8th to the 22nd. They were invited by various institutions with which ESCEG has signed collaboration agreements, on the occasion of the 65th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cuba and China. The delegation was represented by the Rector, Dr. Mercedes Delgado Fernández, the Vice-Rector, Dr. Ana Gloria Navarro Pentón, and the Head of the Department of Information Technology, Dr. José Miguel Valdés Portal.
At the visited institutions, the delegation met with administrators and professors, and explored curricula, teaching methods, learning environments, and best practices, with a focus on digital transformation, Big Data, and Artificial Intelligence. They also visited museums and mausoleums. The institutions visited were:
1. Guizhou Provincial Academy of Governance.
2. Hunan Institute of Management.
3. Hunan Vocational School of Foreign Trade.
4. Hunan City University.
5. Shaoshan Institute of Management.
6. Hebei University of International Studies.
7. Beijing Institute of Technology.
8. Development Research Center of the State Council of the People's Republic of China.
9. China Women's University.
10. IFlytek Company.
In Guizhou Province, the group also visited the Guizhou Big Data Center, the Bridge Museum, and a village where rural revitalization had been successful. They also met with the Vice Secretary of the Guizhou Provincial Committee and the Secretary of the Guizhou Provincial Committee for Policy and Law. In Hunan Province, they visited Mao Zedong's birthplace, his birthplace, and the museum. In Hebei Province, the delegation visited Hebei International Studies University, signed a new cooperation agreement for the establishment of a Smart Governance Center, and visited the heroic city of Xibaipo. In Beijing, in addition to the institutions visited, they met with the Director of the International Center of the National Development and Reform Commission of China and officials from the National Academy of Governance of China to organize a seminar to be held in December 2025 at the ESCEG (Center for Strategic Studies of China).
