Thursday, May 30, 2024

The National Innovation Council will hold its Balance Sheet on May 27, 2024 after three years of operation starting on May 24, 2021, led by President Dr. C. Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez, and made up of Prime Minister Manuel Marrero Cruz, the Vice Prime Minister who handles this activity, Inés María Chapman Waugh, and the other permanent members established in Agreement 156 of the Council of State, dated April 13, 2021. Presidential Decree 262 establishes the Regulations of the National Innovation Council. The Balance Sheet of the National Innovation Council addressed the main results achieved, projections, and main issues to be addressed in the future. The members evaluated, in a critical and self-critical manner, what was done in that period, aware of the multiple challenges they have ahead to systematize the work that must focus, increasingly, on the strategic areas that Cuba needs to boost its economy and social development. The Rector of the Higher School of State and Government Officers, Dr. C. Mercedes Delgado Fernández, is a member of the National Innovation Council and participated in its Review.
