Inauguration of the III edition of the Diploma in Public and Business Administration

On November 6 at 8:30, the III edition of the Diploma in Public and Business Administration opens at the Higher School of State and Government Staff (ESCEG) with an enrollment of 37 staff in decision-making positions belonging to 30 bodies, organizations of the central administration of the state, national entities and different business groups. The composition of the group guarantees greater homogeneity in the nomenclature of cadres, which will facilitate the teaching and learning process and the preparation of generic competencies for management work as cadres in main positions, with emphasis on government management based on science and innovation, social communication and computerization with digital transformation.
The event was chaired by the Minister of Higher Education, Dr. C. Walter Baluja García, the Head of the Directorate of State and Government Cadres, Miguel Mario Cabrera Castellanos and the Rector of the ESCEG, Dr. C. Mercedes Delgado Fernández , who gave the opening speech. Among the characteristics of this preparation, the Rector expressed: The Diploma will be developed for 12 weeks, with the characteristic that the management responsibilities of the students are combined with teaching activities. During the delivery of the Diploma, the harmonious combination of a faculty made up of professors and main staff is ensured, who, through conferences, workshops, exchange panels, case studies, simulations, tools, the use of software, good practice visits , as well as the integrative diagnostic workshop and pre-defense as part of the evaluation system, will promote the assimilation of the contents, with a greater presence of practical activities, which promote skills. Skills are also developed in teams and a final work is defended, on a topic prioritized and approved by their bosses, oriented towards the solution of a complex problem or opportunity for improvement, comprehensively diagnosed and an innovation project. Finally, he told them that the doors of the institution are open forever and urged them to make the most of this opportunity to learn, to generate and apply innovations in their areas of management, with the conviction that “to think as a country is to sow and fertilize the future.”
