Directors of the Ministry of Higher Education visit the ESCEG

On February 10, 2023, the Vice Minister of the Ministry of Higher Education of Cuba, Dr. C. Reynaldo Velázquez Zaldívar, visits the Escuela Superior de Cuadros del Estado y del Gobierno together with other managers to evaluate the fulfillment of the objectives of 2022 with its indicators and goals, embodied in the Strategic Project, as well as projecting the main challenges for 2023.
The Rector, Dr. C. Mercedes Delgado Fernández, presents the results in relation to the fulfillment of the indicators with their goals for the postgraduate training processes, science, technology and innovation, university extension, internationalization, human resources, information, communication and computerization, material and financial assurance. The main results achieved include:
• New modalities of preparation of State and Government cadres: Training of the quarry of fundamental positions and Diploma in Public and Business Administration (APyE).
• Significant amount of postgraduate activities (69) with 2179 graduates.
• Methodological advice to institutions authorized for the Diploma in APyE and other courses and seminars with 1050 graduates.
• Catalog with more than 50 courses: direction; innovation; management; accounting and financial economic management; legal; Information, Communication and Information Technology; English language; International relations.
• Advice to management teams on generic competencies of cadres, cost system by activities, government management based on science and innovation, interpretation of financial statements, profit distribution, management systems, quality management, local development and teamwork. .
• Link with the provincial government of Havana and the municipal government of Boyeros for training in Municipal Development Strategies, Municipal Assembly of People's Power, Companies and Assemblies of the PCC.
• Significant contribution of the international collaboration with China, Russia, Belarus and Vietnam with 23 actions through virtual platforms, 19 postgraduate programs with 829 graduates and scientific production.
• Main topics of international collaboration: digital skills for public servants; digital transformation; public administration; digitization of the financial market; SMEs; innovation ecosystems: technoparks, technopolises and clusters; municipal government management; One Belt and One Road Initiative; Ji Jinping's Socialism with Chinese Characteristics in the New Era; Administrative reform, socioeconomic innovation and digital transformation.
In the Balance of the objectives, the Vice Minister expressed that the ESCEG achieved very good results in 2022 in all its processes and as the main challenges for 2023 the reopening of postgraduate specialties and the institutional evaluation process. I emphasize that it is a singular University with an important contribution in the preparation and improvement of the cadres of the country.
