Students of the VIII edition of the Public Administration Specialty visit the Institute of Endocrinology

As part of the Public and Population Policies course, students studying the VIII edition of the Public Administration Specialty at the Higher School of State and Government Staff made a good practices visit to the National Institute of Endocrinology with the objective of verify the implementation of health policies approved by the Ministry of Public Health, which affect citizen well-being. The group of students was received by the management team of the hospital institution headed by its director, Doctor Erick Robles, also a student of the current edition.
At the meeting, the main health indicators that the institute addresses, as well as its main results and projections, were presented. The program of care for endocrine diseases was specially addressed with emphasis on Diabetes Mellitus, where the main challenges to care for the Cuban population, which increases with this non-communicable disease, were exposed.
As part of the activity, an exchange was held with a representation of the Spanish solidarity group, Hormigas Solidarias, who made a donation of medicines and other supplies to the hospital, as part of the campaign to support Cuba and against the Cuban Blockade. by the United States.
